That's quite a catch! Great in flight image! Good eye to catch this one. I like the BG as well. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome Capture Sandy
Great flight position for both the bird and the bee with very sharp details. I really like the anticipation portrayed here, with the phoebe's opening beak.
Sweet One!!!

Nice light on the bird. Appears to be late in the day. Too bad you didn't get the same light on the bee. This must be a very small bird or a very large bee. I'm assuming this is a large crop because there is considerable noise on the bird noted in the large image despite having good detail.

Sandy, you captured the decisive moment of flight for both. Great background and I agree the sharpness of the subjects and the stopping of the action is photo imagery at its best. I love this photo.

Really terrific image Sandy! Love the anticipation of the chase. Really nice detail on both subjects and comp is perfect in my opinion. Not sure why you only have 7 comments on tis one. Hope more people open this up and look at the large image. I do have one question. On the BG, it almost appears as if it was overexposed and you did a lot of burning on it. Is that why it has a grayish tone? If yes, is it possible to back off the burning a touch so it doesn't appear so gray? Please know, this is a small nit on a great image. Only asking because I think it might improve it even more.

Kurt - no burning on the BG at all. Nothing here but darkening the bee a little (maybe too much? bright light on it ), and usual sharpening.. As it was, I didn't even know the bee was there in a couple frames of the burst til I blew it up - a very big crop and far away.

Wow, what a shot, Sandy! I don't know how I missed this one, but I did. So glad it saw it though. Perfect timing for you and the bird, not so for the poor bee.
