Glacier Bay NP, Alaska
On our trip to Alaska in the early fall we eschewed the large cruise ship option and instead spent a week on a 60 passenger adventure boat chasing whales and glaciers and paddling kayaks in Glacier Bay and environs. One of the few times we set foot on shore we hiked a trail near the Glacier Bay visitor center. Came across this fungus and liked it and the multicolor environment. All comments welcome.>=))>

One of the great things about Alaska that belies its reputation as a barren frozen wasteland is the incredible diversity of plant life, especially the coastal areas. You have shown this expertly in this well composed image. Good work, Bill! BTW, welcome back!laugh

An attractive composition.  Looks as if you had some nice light.  The colors pop and there is good detail throughout the photo.

I love the look at these oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus, I think) Bill. Great color and depth to this one. Oyster mushrooms are also considered edible, choice!!!
