Love that your exposure was 2.5 seconds, and the use of the Singh Ray filter. The detail view is a must see.  Excellent image.

Thanks for the comments Harley and Jim.  I have been seeing some fall images of Oxbow Bend lately and it is just not the same without snow on the mountains.  A winner would be a great fall shot with fresh snow everywhere.  One day ...

Wonderful first image, Dave. I like those bushes at bottom of frame. The image would be weaker without them.

The spring greens on the aspens are a nice departure from the summer and fall images.  Having good snow on the peaks is a nice plus also.

Gorgeous scene.  I like the pastel mauves against the frosty Spring greens and the icing on the cake is that lovely snow on the Teton peaks.

This is great info to receive.  I can easily get lost in my own images (I am sure other photographers will agree) and not see the strong points too.

Dave,

Welcome to NPN and the Landscape Gallery.  Quite the entrance with this gorgeous first post.

I was going to ask, why are the aspens green?  I've only seen images from here with yellow and orange?  Is this IR?  (JUST KIDDING)  Seriously, a wonderful take on this iconic location.  For me the clean and bold whites on the peaks make this stand out.  Of course you've got a wonderful sky and everything else to make this a wonderful take on this classic view.

Kudos, and welcome!

Wonderful mix of colors and I do feel the quiet of pre-dawn.  My only small suggestion would be to try and keep the branches from running into the reflection if at all possible.  Sometimes not possible.  Really lke the new growth leaves on the aspen - can still see a lot of the branches.

I mainly see images of the Tetons with fall colors too.  I was heading to Yellowstone when my photo buddy and I stopped at Oxbow for this shoot.  I would still love to see this location in Sept but getting picky now and would like snow on the mtns in the fall - ha ha.

This image was taken May 19 this year about 8-9 am range.  (my exif says 5am which is not correct)

Nice image. Overall it's wonderful. Might be hard to avoid the tree branches at lower right. These are irrelevant to the mountains and lake.

Welcome aboard, Dave.  I love this image.  The longish exposure works very nicely.  Jump in and comment on the images of others.  It's the give and take that makes this site work.  Very nice work.

Welcome to NPN, Dave!

This is fine image of Mt. Moran and the river. The early spring greens and the lovely light work very nicely. A great first post.

We look forward to your participation!
