Nice Day for Nannies

This is the Nanny before she laid down on the rock (my last post). She's a good looking, healthy goat!  These goats are pretty shy because they are hunted heavily so it was pretty tricky getting close enough for these shots.  The bad news was that I had to fight my way through a whole lot of thick brush, tall alders and small cottonwood trees before I could get an open view that was close enough.  The good news was that it was blowing very hard and the trees and brush were waving so my movement wasn't noticeable plus the roaring of the wind in the trees covered any sounds I made.

The larger version is really great. Lots of detail. I love the habitat that you included. Well done.

Gary: wonderful capture of the nanny in her environment, and the detail captured in the large version is a must see. Congrats! Richard

Gary, the goat looks great with outstanding details in her coat.  I too think her surroundings add wonderfully to the view.

Gary, this is good work in getting these kinds of shots in a heavily hunted population!  Is this a young nanny?  I ask because I always thought both sexes had horns.
