Frosted Bracken Fern

Being in open prairie and away from the water we get a lot more frost than David Schoen, even though we're probably not 15 miles apart straight-line distance.  I think we've had at least five frosts thus far this fall, though I've only gotten out to photograph one of them.

5Diii, EF180 f3.5L macro, tripod and cable release, live view mode, f/10, 1/500, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped a bit top and bottom.  Taken at 8:28 am on October 31st at the local prairie preserve (it was a volunteer workday, so I went out early for the sunrise and frost).

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Dennis, nice macro image.  I like the color, detail and the lighting really makes the image!

Frosted ferns are lovely, David, and this is a fine look at one.  The orange color of the frond, the good sense of movement from the shape, and the repeated pattern of the leaves look great, with the frost being the "icing on the cake", so to speak...
