Dove on Rail

This mourning dove was at the same location about a week after I took the photo of the mockingbird I posted last. I was only about ten feet from the dove and it calmly stayed put me to take this portrait. Once I stepped up onto the boardwalk, it decided I was too close and flew off a few feet further. Canon 5Diii, f8, 1/2000 sec, iso 400, -1 EV, 100-400 ISL ii, with 1.4 TC at 560 mm, Handheld. Thanks for your thoughts and critiques.

I like the light on this one.  You got a really good head turn.  Well composed and the railing fits in well with the whole image.

Very nice overall, Ed! Love the details on the dove and the beautiful bg. The head angle is just about right, too.

Beautiful light on the dove, Ed.  I like the angle of the rail and your dof.  Lovely bg as well.

Nice detail and background.  Good eye contact and selective DOF.  Perhaps a little tight on the tail.

The muted colors are in perfect keeping with this unobtrusive serene little bird. Nice!
