Gone With The Wind + repost

During this Autumn several wind storms have approached the Alps. This has given me the occasion to explore the effect of the wind on the Autumn colors not always successfully. This was taken close to a small lake and I was immediately attracted by the yellow vegetation in the sun and the trees in the background in the shadow. I was lucky because the wind blew from left to right and some leaves stood out on the dark background. I did many attempts and I realized only at home that I got something in the end.
I am happy because few months ago I would have not even able to visualize a scene like this.

As always your thoughts and comments are very much appreciated.

Mattia,

It too the large view to really get the full effect, and thank goodness because this time I think you've succeeded in capturing the wind!  At first in the normal view I thought there were too many light specs showing through the trees... but then the large view it became obvious they were blowing leaves.  And then the bent over vegetation, while not all that blurry, really indicate the presence of wind.  The light on the grasses is wonderful too.  This is excellent!  Nicely executed!

Very minor, but you might consider cloning/cropping the very light areas at the tops of the trees in the corners.  I think maybe cropping up from the bottom too? Just a very little.  I wouldn't want to get in to a 50/50 comp - although rules are meant to be broken and that might prove interesting as well.

Kudos for making the best when mother nature isn't always cooperating.

Excellent job Mattia.  This image has life and movement along with great colors and texture.  I absolutely love the bits of grass that are flying around!!  Your processing is very pleasing as well, but I do agree with Lon on the top crop suggestion, but I prefer the bottom as presented.  Thanks for sharing!

The large version works beautifully, Mattia. I really like the interplay of light and shadow in this scene; great eye to spot this and pull it off. The high lighted leaves in the BG remind me of lighting bugs. I like Lon's slight crop suggestion as it gives you two distinct areas of light and shadow. Either way, great work.

This is unique, creative and very well done. It nicely conveys the sense of the wind. I also like Lon's top crop idea to keep attention in the frame.

Neat shot and appreciate the thoughts on the prcoesss.  I know it feels great to be able to 'see' things after a while.

Great job capturing "the wind", Mattia.  The combination of bent grasses and flying leaves tells that story very well.  I've tried to "catch the wind" a couple of times with nothing close to this level of success, congratulations.
