Common Yellowthroat

Gallery: Photo ArtPosted October 22, 201779 views2 comments
I liked the scene with the background, the foliage, and the yellowthroat singing.  Unfortunately, the bird wasn't quite sharp and as I played around with attempts to improve the detail it became too painterly looking and not natural enough for the Avian gallery, but I still liked the look and felt it would be appropriate for Photo Art.

Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I like the composition, the pose, the perch and the colors. I do wish the eye was sharp. The out of focus eye is right where my eye goes.

Allen,

It takes the larger view to get the photo art sense of this, and I think it works well.  Might agree with the sharp eye, but given the rest of the image is altered to an extent, then the light in the eye kinda fits right in.

I think because it's been altered to a photo art presentation, I might have cropped this significantly say 20% off the left and a little bit less than that up top - just to give the bird a bigger presence.
