Juv Male House Finch
by David Schoen
Fall color changes are in full force here in the Pacific Northwest, at least in my neighborhood. This affects the deciduous trees only, primarily Maples and Alders. And that can create some nice color combinations. It can be a challenge in the saturation department. This juvenile male House Finch is pretty typical of what I am seeing now. They are primarily peach colored and have yet to eat enough of whatever it is that turns them deep red by next spring.
Iso-1000, 600 mm, F10, 800th, -1 EV, D850, fill flash at -1.3 EV, 60% full frame, tripod, overcast, Topaz adjust, TK, sharpening action at 50%

7 commentsNice perch and head turn. The Finch stands out nicely from it's back-ground.

The house finch looks pretty good with your camera settings. The lighting looks a little flat to me, but I realize that you needed to bump up the light to compensate for the bright BG.........................Jim
