Learning to Weave

I took this last April during a visit to a carpet emporium in Fes, Morocco.  It was very dark but I knew that flash would reflect off the loom.  Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM at 32mm, f/7.1 @ 1/100th, ISO 5000.

Charles: this is really an excellent capture. You've obviated the need to show the act of weaving ( which I've tried unsuccessfully a few times) and yet there's no doubt that weaving is taking place. Capturing the action of the figures which are partially obscured behind the strings really tells the story. Congrats!! Richard

I love the perspective in this shot Charles.  Even through the strands the concentration is clear on the faces  Very nice work!

This is really warped Charles, but you'd have to be a weaver to get the pun.  I really like the image

Wonderful, creative approach to this scene. I love it! It also reminds me of playing a harp...the hands are in great positions and the viewer can sense that this is not happening in the USA. A bit mysterious for that reason, in a good way.

This is such an evocative photo - the position of the hands and the diaphanous quality of the loom create a spiritual aura connected to the ancient art of weaving. Quite beautiful!
