Serious Consideration

The salmon at Valdez have moved up the river now and the Eagles are following them.  This Bald Eagle had moved in on another's catch and appeared to be deciding where to start.  It was pretty late light and I was shooting into it,with bright reflections from the water, but it turned out better than I thought it would.

Sony a6500, FE100400GM @ 400mm, ISO-400, f/5.6, 1/500, hand held.

Hi Gary
I agree with you about the kick off the water, it bring out the detail in the dark feathers.

I sure like the interaction here.  Looks like you were fairly close but a fill flash might have helped with some of the detail in the dark feathers.  I do see a little noise in the dark areas.  I might also consider cropping some of the right-hand side in decentering the image.

This actually turned out quite nicely, Gary.  I like the silvered bg, though I think I'd run some noise reduction on the bg as the upper oof area seems rather grainy.  A bit more canvas on top would be nice.

I really dig the look the eagle is giving Gary, so great timing!
