Autumn Impressions

Thank you for your comments on my previous image, always appreciated.
This image was taken few days ago during a windy afternoon. I took advantage of the strong wind to create a sort of impression of this early autumn. I used a 4 stop ND filter to get 3 seconds of exposure.
Your comments and suggestions are appreciated on any aspect of the image and for future attempts.

Nikon d7000
Nikkor 50mm

tripod, polarizer, and 4-stop ND filter

Nice picture. Next time you might try adding something to the foreground to create some depth. Keep up the good work!

Mattia,

I like the idea here and kudos to you for not only recognizing the challenge, but in being able to go with it.  If the wind is blowing, go with it....

Unfortunately I think you're either just to far away or the effect not great enough to really turn this in to an abstract.  I first notice, hmmm, this part looks blurry... oh wait, and this part.. then I read your description, ah, it makes sense now.

I see the effects in the foreground elements, but again I think to get the full effect you needed to be in closer. At least that's what I think.

Great idea, Mattia.  I just don't think you went far enough.  It's kind of a tweener.  Lost in the visual middle ground.   My two cents anyway.

I think Lon captured my thoughts on this one, Mattia. I always struggle with these type of impressionistic images as it seems to be a fine line to get just enough blur. Great thinking outside the box.

I don't have much experience with blur induced by wind images. But I think the light is too strong here. There is a lot of contrast which is working against you. I usually wait a bit longer in the day. Forest scenes are really tough in bright sunshine. You'll notice how all those Yosemite photographers are using the bounce light from the canyon walls rather than direct sunlight.
