Ripples and Reflections

I went down to Tumwater Falls a year or so ago to try photographing salmon (an abject failure), but I liked the looks of the reflected foliage on the water, so I took a few shots of that.  Not my normal genre at all and it's one that I wouldn't expect to hold my attention, but it seems to do so.  I find my eye just roaming around from one eddy to another.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 562 mm, tripod, f/10, 1/100, iso 1250, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Minor exposure, curves and vibrance adjustments.  Taken at 10:01 am on September 29th, 2016.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

I love reflection abstracts like this Dennis and this ones a beauty.  They are fun and challenging when it comes to keeping them interesting without being overwhelmed by the details.  This is a good example of lots of things to look at, even as there's a nice sense of balance.  The tinges of cream and pink are a good counterpoint to all the greens.  It seems like there a touch more contrast in the top 2/3rds.  If you use luminosity masks, I'd suggest trying a bit of burning-in of the darker tones in the bottom 1/3rd.

Complex, yet unsettling. Yep, it's busy. Even though the colors are so compelling.

A very pleasing abstract, Dennis.  The softness visible especially in the larger version suits the subject extremely well, allowing the eye a mellow wandering around the image.

Dennis, we often strive to capture a particular center of interest, but in this case the entire frame becomes just that, letting the eye wander around the abstract presentation and with loads of harmonious color. There are a few curious little light streaks, maybe sprigs of grass (?). Anyhow, I'd clean those up and then print it big!

This has so much great color all over. With all the movement in the water I would expect a lot more silvering. Nice abstract Dennis.
