This is another from the great drive on the Denali Highway along the Alaska Range.

Love those clouds Harley. The large version is a must see because the details in the trees and lakes below just don't have the same impact in the version of the comment page. I shot this scene in color as well and they came out quite well but the clouds were not as prominent. One of the great things about cloud pictures is that they create those cool shadows across the land. That came out real well here also.

Harley, I really like this! It is a great comp and just a fantastic scene. Those clouds are wonderful as is your b&w processing. The larger version is a must see!devil It has a real 3D feel to it. Love the mountains, mid-ground and the foreground trees as well.

You have a great feel for what makes a fine sky in B&W. This works very well, and the large version is especially nice. This does have a 3D look. The clouds are wonderful!

Harley,

Yet another "wide open spaces" image to check off in your collection of fine b&w landscapes.  The clouds are of course the big attractiona and like Igor, the shadows created on the landscape keep the viewer exploring.

The only small suggestion I have would be to add some contrast or deeping the blacks in the mountain range.  Shadows are being cast from the clouds way back in the scene too, but the shadows aren't has dark/contrasty.  Yeah, there's that thing call atmosphere and the distance alone will change the light, but just my thought about adding contrast to the mountain range itself.  Not too much and of course all subjective and personal choice.

A grand land and cloudscape.

Some really breath taking open spaces in this one, Harley. The clouds in this one are off the charts for providing so much character to this view. The actual open spacing between the given clouds provides them each with their own individual & unique footprint. So many times were blocked out by this kind of view with solid ceilings, this works in the opposite. Excellent image.......laugh

I can see Lon's point on the distant cloud shadows, but a quick look at the original file should provide that answer if they need to be addressed. No deal breaker at all, just a follow up thought there......enlightened

Beautiful detail on the clouds and forest - B&W is perfect for this scene, I think.

This is a beauty, Harley. Wonderful details in the larger version and those clouds add lots of depth and interest. BW processing looks spot-on to me. While I'd be interested to see in color, I suspect this image will be best rendered in BW. Great image, only had to drive 2000 miles to get it sad.

I like the expansive view and the textured sky.  The pine trees don't show up very well in the land, though.  They mostly blend in.  Not sure if there's a way to make them more prominent based on color or not.

A very nice grand scenic. Those clouds are awesome. I also love your B&W processing. A print of this must be quite something.
