At the end of August, I posted an image of a sparrow that I thought was A Savannah Sparrow and the consensus was that it was in fact a song sparrow. Well, here is the real McCoy which visited me yesterday morning and I thank Mia McPherson for the identification.

Nice detail and pose, I like the smooth background. The growths on the perch really help, and are nicer than a bare branch.

Hi David,

This is a nice shot of a savannah sparrow with an atypical perch. A grassland species, it is amazing where they show up as demonstrated by the lichen covered perch. I like the comp and overall presentation with a wonderful BG. Well done.......................Jim

A nice image as presented. Colors overall work well together. Nice light giving three dimensions to the sparrow.

Most decidedly a Savannah, David. They don't normally hang out in the woods, though they seem to like shoreline to some extent, so that's probably where it came from. Excellent detail and I love the head turn.
