Canyon Clarity

This is Keystone, Canyon near Valdez, Alaska; taken last winter.  With the direct sun on fresh snow and the other side of the canyon in deep shade, the contrast was too much for a single exposure.  This is a bracketed 3-shot HDR blend done all done by the camera in a little more than a second.  The fun part is that you can do it handheld!  The only down side is that you have to shoot in JPEG but it does such a good job it's worth it.

The settings for the middle exposure are:  Sony a6000, SEL1670Z @ 16 mm, ISO-100, f/11.0, 1/640, hand held.

This looks so cold!  Glad you use a technic that gave you details in both sides of the canyon.  Well seen and taken.  TFS.

Quite the contrast posted next to Wayne's fall colors, Gary.  The light and dark sides look good.  I'm especially drawn to the reflection in the snow melt along the left side of the road.

A very neat stretch of road, Gary.  For some reason the HDR treatment on the shadowed side doesn't quite work for me, though I'm not sure whether I'd go darker or lighter on it.
