One more from the short light show on the River.  I just wanted to post one the was not mostly sky.  Of course in this case, what I liked was how the clouds from the sky dropped down onto the River and surrounding forest, and how some holes in the sky allowed the Sun to shine some spotlights on this little part of the Earth.

Canon 5D3; Canon 24-105 mm.
1/200 sec. @ f/11; ISO 640
Hand-held from canoe

Very nice series of river images.  My favorites featured the sky reflections.  All had very peaceful and calming effects and each could stand on their own.  Its nice to see you posting again.

Yes, the sky is marvelous, as are the low clouds. The foliage on the right with the reflections give a sense of peace. I find myself trying to look around the fg to enjoy the ambiance of the image. The fg rock would have been a nice addition but the brush on top gets in the way of appreciating this scene. At first I thought a higher angle would have helped but I just think it's the nature of the brush itself. On the other hand the fg yellows do provide a nice complement to a mostly cool image and that's a positive. It will be interesting to see what others have to say.

Wayne,

A very calming and serene scene; I can imagine the peace and quiet paddling around in the canoe.  This provides a nice perspective.

I would be fair to compare to your previous image and the very special light.  This is a different scene, different light and different mood.  I like the cool/warm contrast between the little island and the rest of the scene.  I'm also glad you gave some room on the right to allow the eye to make its way around the island. This makes the comp work for me, even though on the flip side, I wish the left wasn't cut off. Then again, the more I think about it, I think I would prefer this where there is open space to the right rather than having less space on both sides.  Not sure if that makes sense.

Quiet and peaceful. Can't help but enjoy this one too.

Very enjoyable, Wayne. It fits nicely with your images in the series, but does have a different mood that I like. The vegetation on the island does not bother me, and I like how you included the space to the right. Nicely done.

Wayne, looks like a spectacular spot, and you've captured it perfectly.
