The dynamics in this scene full of young ducks reminded me of a typical gathering of high school kids.  The girls are gathered together and chatting it up on the waters edge while the shy guy in the background is lurking in the weeds and the class showoff was putting on a show out front!  The background ducks aren't withing the focal range but I like the context that they added to the scene.  

Sony a6500, FE100400GM w/1.4TC @ 560mm, ISO-500, f/8.0, 1/2000, hand held.

A very nice scene, Gary, with some cool action from the show-off.  I like the inclusion of the bg ducks in this as they add some interest without distracting from the primary subject.

You caught the duck in a nice pose.  The wing detail looks great.  I also like the duck partially hidden in the grass.

Nice staging of all the ducks in a row in the background.  Good color and detail.  I like the water colors and contrast.  There is something different about the way this camera handles color and contrast compared to my Nikon and I like it because it is a change.

nice light, pose and detail, I agree the bg birds are a nice touch. Personally, I think a little more to the left would be nice.

Gary: this is a very good environmental as well as behavioral photo. The pose and the techs are spot on. You really gain an appreciation of high high up in the water she is when you look and see her orange feet. Congrats! Richard

Almost a painterly feel esp on the wing.  Interesting suggestion of birds in the bgd.
