Moon and Flag

9/5/17, Ness City, KS. I photographed the full moon on a breezy night. I like how the flag atop the Skyscraper of the Plains appears to fold around the moon. I used 2 images, taken minutes apart, for this image. One image was exposed/focused for the flag and one was exposed and properly focused for the moon. I used a long lens when photographing the scene. This compressed the scene and allowed the moon to appear as large in the image as it did to the naked eye. I wish the chimney wasn't overlapping the spire, but it was unavoidable.

The image is unique. I like how the clouds encircle the moon and flag. That is the real image, the bottm is just incidental environment. NIce work.

Thanks, Richard. I agree that the "hole" in the clouds really helps make the image.

Really nice idea. Love the atmosphere. I think there is still some work to be done on the moon edges. I'm not an expert on this so no suggestions but it looks "pasted".
