Prince and Princess

If the lion is king of the jungle, surely the leopard is the prince. Here's a photo of a prince and princess taken in the soft light of the early morning. The pair were mating and in between bouts they presented a nice pose. I liked their head on pose and how the female curled her tail against the body of the male. Nikon D 500 and 80-400 lens at 1/400, f/5.6 and ISO 400. Richard

Richard, this is very nice.  How wonderful to get them both facing you in that light.  I also think the "tail rub" is a nice touch and emphasizes the fact that she wants him there.

Wonderful catch, Richard. The poses make this especially nice. Max brings up a good point, seems to suggest who's in charge. I love the harmonious colors.

Doesn't get much better than this. About my only suggestion is a little more room up top, if you have it. Well done.

Richard,
I am deeply envious of this extremely rare sighting.

Fantastic light and eye contact on these beautiful cats.  Love the physical contact with the tail.

It is a great fortune to get these two offering side by side poses, with those penetrating stares.  Lovely light!  You did well in separating them from the competing details of the grassy environment.  I really appreciate the low angle perspective, too.

I agree with all the above comments. Nice sighting and shot! The other advantage of having them both together facing the camera is to show clearly the size difference of the sexes, particularly in the head. Good stuff! devil
