Love You Mom #2

I took this photo of the lioness as she walked down the road to a watering hole with 7 cubs. Four of the cubs were hers and the balance were those of her sister who had died of a parasitic infection. She, and another lioness who had 3 much younger cubs, would join forces to hunt. I'm not fond of taking photos of animals on a road, but this interaction and having all 7 cubs in view was too good to pass up. Nikon D500 and 80-400 lens at 1/400, f/14 and ISO 640.

That is absolutely precious Richard. Nice capture. I love the warmth of the grasses and the wonderful lions all spread out along the road. Looks like there is a straggler in the crowd too. Love it.

Richard, this is pretty darn cool.  Getting them all marching toward you like this into the light is great, the flanking grasses frame everything nicely, and to get the nuzzle is the cherry on top.

Richard,
Roads are undoubtedly the bane of wildlife photographers, I wonder why anyone could complain about their presence.
Great image of a magical momentdevil
