Pink Beauties

A nice row of pink lupines stood out in this field in Sugar Hill, NH.
Sorry, these look so crappy. I've never had compression problems before on NPN. Don't know what's going on. Please skip the 720 image and just look at the large one. At least it's a little better.

Very nice, Michael. The lupine meadow has really nice color and detail in the larger view. You did well using the line of pink lupine in the foreground. The trees in the bg also look much better in the larger view.

Michael,

Always hard to tell with the 720 version... so I always just rely on the larger version when commenting.

Love the line of lupine here. The color, sat and processing of these beauties looks great.  I'm unsure about the upper part though. The tree line is a bit dark. I do like the sky as it helps define the light you have in the scene, but for me anyway the upper part occupies a lot of space.  Good news is that it's not hurting the overall image and it works in providing context and even framing, but the top just doesn't keep me engaged. Duh,  it's all about the flowers which are wonderful.

Much better in the larger version; quite striking. I'm okay with the trees and sky robbing a bit from the flower show becauswe it provides nice layering.

The large version, for sure. The flowers are gorgeous, and I like the mix of pink, blue and yellow. The amount of sky does not bother me, and adds context. Your processing looks real nice.

Just curious, Michael, but did you upload a separate 720 px, image, or did you allow the gallery software to resize the large version? I always upload a separate 720 px version. That seems to help with compression issues.

Very nice image!

Thanks to all for the comments. Preston, I let the gallery resize. I used to load a separate 720 image, but then I guess I got too lazy. I was satisfied with the results until I switched to an imac with QHD display. For some reason it makes the 720 pics really fuzzy.

Beautiful Michael.  I love the line of pink lupines, in fact, they remind me of some fantasy Middle Eastern skyline.  I love the layers here and get what Lon said, but the stars are up front and the supporting cast looks fine.

The large view is particularly nice as the details and textures are wonderfully crisp, Mike. I also like the layers in this well composed scene. You did so much better than I did on this trip coming away with some lupine images. I spent way to much time trying macro shots with the unrelenting breeze. What was your SS and ISO on this one?
