I photographed this Great Egret in Hammonasset Beach State Park,CT, on a very overcast evening.  I used a mono pole for the shot and cropped it by 20% into a 4 by3.  I adjusted the exposure, contrast, and clarity in lightroom.

Shooting Mode  Aperture-Priority AE,  Tv(Shutter Speed)  1/1600

Great fluffed out pose, Peter, and well cropped.

Nice fluffed plumage, and good green setting. I'd see about a bit more contrast and a bump in saturation as well.

I like the feather detail. I would, however, brighten this up a bit. Well done.

I really like the fluffed feathers Peter. I would also agree about trying to brighten it up a touch.

Thank you for the comments.  I increased the exposure and contrast in this post.

Nice pose and I love the rumpled feathers, Peter.  You got the exposure and contrast done nicely in the repost.

Certainly a different look.  I like it.  Repost is much better.

Lovely image, the shaking pose is obviously is the main attraction - but the texture of the surrounding grasses adds a lot as well ! Nice one, Peter ! Hans
