Lioness

I took this photo of this alert and to my mind, very regal looking lioness as she scanned the horizon for prey. Nikon D 500 and 80-400 lens at 1/1600, f/5.6 and ISO 450. Richard

Regal is right. Just a beautiful portrait. I'm assuming that there was something on the left that caused you to crop as you did.

This is an interesting pose, Richard, for the subject to be looking OUT of the frame, not normally a favorable pose, but it works quite well here.

Richard,
Great pose and detail here, the crop is a bit strange but nevertheless "different"

Thanks to all for your comments. BTW, this wasn't a crop. I shot it this way. Richard

This is so nice Richard. I really like the dappled light and the detail in the grasses as well as the lioness. I think it makes you wonder what it was she was so intently looking at. It is indeed a regal pose.

Gorgeous subject, framed very nicely by the grass in front and behind, and I like that there's a bit of shadow to separate the two layers.
