Grizzly Bear, ... Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary of Northern BC Canada.   The water is salty as it follows the tide in from Pacific ocean about 20 mile west of here. We are about 26 miles south of Alaska and can see the Alaska mountains on our float plane flight into the Khutzeymateen. Springtime here is very busy time for the recently awaken grizzly  from its winter rest/sleep/hibernation. The grasses are sweet and full of protein, as the grizzly eats , eats and eats!
Hand held from a floating Zodiac boat as we glide with the tide. Overcast/rain  is great , as it allows All-Day shooting in this Temperate Rainforest.
Nikon with 70-200mm lens , 2.8 VR, on active, 1/250, F7.1, ISO1400, -.67 Meter compensation using manual metering, Hand held.

Comments appreciated.

Good job Bill. I like the paw showing those giant claws.  Nice light and processing.  You may want to lighten the left eye very slightly but still great as presented. Thanks for sharing.

Great image with super detail.  Brings back memories of our trip to Khutzey 2 years ago.  It is a wonderful location.  Left eye is OK with me as that is the way it really is.

Techs look great and the pose and reflection are attention grabbing.  Nice.  I like this as posted, but am mildly wishing for the bear to be "cut" off at a different place.  I think this would be a stunner if you have the pixels to crop to a normal ratio aspect, with the crop line on the bear's back to be at the back of neck, eliminating the hump and effectively moving eyes to about the center of the new frame.  I think that would keep all the reflection, ripple and paw and make the head dropping down into the frame carry much more drama!

Bill: there's a great pose/attitude exhibited by the bear. I think an alternative approach would be to crop away some on the left and to  crop just behind the forelegs. You might also consider toning down the bright highlights in the coat. It's very good as is, so my suggestions are for a V 2.0. Richard
