I echo Patricia words. The upturned head makes it even more majestic. I'm noticing some IQ isssues in the larger image. Perhaps it's due to the 2X teleconverter. Regardless, beautiful image.

A very artistic appearing composition.  Good pose and perch.

Sandy, I agree with the others regarding the Eagle's stately pose.  I think that the distant "poofy" clouds contribute a lot to that regal appearance.  Nice!

Sandy: excellent techs and the eagle looks regal against the sky. Having the entire perch in focus is a big plus. Richard

I love his pose on that old limb, with the lovely sky for a background, Sandy.  Nicely done.  He is holding his head up high with pride, it seems.

Sandy:  Pretty nice frame.  Love the background.  Exposure looks good.  Do wish for two things.  Wish the bird was further left in the frame, and the image quality on the larger version is not quite there.

I like all the elements in this image - the perch, background and mainly the subject. I also like how the look the eagle is giving you. I do think the composition would look better with the eagle more on the left of the frame.

I'm going to piggyback on the other viewer's comments. I agree with everything said thus far, including getting the image off center.  I'm guessing the 2.0 TC may have degraded the image somewhat. Still a gorgeous photo. Wish it was mine!cool

Sorry, this was the only crop possible. Dead pines on immediate right and left. This was a huge crop, it's not the tack-sharp TC on the 300 2.8. I was happy to get it this sharp.
thanks for all comments  and suggestions.

A really nice composition and the eagle picked a great perch, Sandy.  I also like the way the bg hills look.  It looks like the image quality is pushing the limits a bit in the larger image, but when I back off to a respectable distance, it still looks fine.

Hi Sandy
Looks like you have a postcard or a new US stamp working here.  Nice work.

Very nice baldy image.  Good eye contact, DOF, perch and the cloud background really helps the overall image.  The square crop and centered comp work.  Well done.
