On the Road

Usually I'd prefer not to take photos of an animal on the road. But as we saw this rhino approach from a distance, I felt taking the photo from a low point in the road would yield a different perspective. I also liked the early morning light. Nikon D500 and 80-400 lens at 1/500, f/8 and ISO 450. Comments welcome. Richard

Great POV, side lighting and wonderful pose here! Tyre marks are bit of an eye sore.

The timing him at the crest of the small hill truly adds to the sense of his immense size.  Good planning!

He certainly looks imposing from this angle Richard, nicely composed given the road.  devil

This is very nicely composed with the rhino a bit off center and looking into the picture.  No problem showing that it is walking on a road.  To me, that only emphasizes that these endangered behemoths no longer live in a pristine environment unaffected by man.  I also like the way this particular camera angle shows the square lip that makes this a White Rhino.

Richard,
Great positioning here!
Not to keen on the tire marks, but not much you can do about that other than blur or clone.
