After leaving the pro-shop’s roof at Fenwick Golf course Ct, this Red-tail Hawk landed in a tree next to the pro-shop. The shot is hand held and cropped by 25%.  I adjusted the highlights, blacks and clarity in Lightroom.

A great pose, Peter.  This is one of those shots where a little fill flash comes in handy to tame those bright spots in the bg and add some kick to the subject.  Unfortunately, from that pose, I doubt if it gave you much time to mess with such things.

Great pose you captured here and nice to get him in a natural environment Peter, I agree some fill flash would have helped this one. devil

Good detail on the head.  But I agree that a little fill flash would make a difference.  I realize that you weren't in a great situation having a dark background against the dark bird.
