Time to wake up

by Allen Brooks

Taken about a quarter to seven in the morning.  We spotted the raccoon sleeping in an oak tree just off our deck.  The sun was just starting to hit that part of the yard as noted by the brighter areas in the photo.  I think I woke it with my movements in getting the shot.

Canon 7d Mark II
Sigma 150-600 at 388 mm
1/50 (lens resting on the back of a chair)
f 6.3
ISO 640

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Allen, what a great way to start your day!  You've got great detail in the raccoon's face and fur and the oak tree branch makes a perfect resting spot.  I love the image as it is, but you might consider cropping a small amount at the top to eliminate those couple of yellow leaves.

Great setting and pose here Allen, unusual to get a shot like this in full sunlight of a resting raccoon, very cool! devil
