Hi All
GBH pair at Venice Rookery. Had to give this one a name.
D 800 , with 300 mm f4 and TC (effective 420 mm), 1/1600 sec, ISO 400, f7.1, handheld.
Comments and critiques always appreciated.
Regards to all

This composition is truly unique with excellent detail throughout. Also would like it with less on the bottom, eliminating the feet and cropping into their chest feathers. Either way it is a great image.

Sweet positions, fine detail and exquisite soft colours.
Unsure about the legs - I think they need to stay, to balance the image.
Very fine work!

This is a very beautiful image Kathy, I love the soft pastel colors and the love bird poses, if it were mine I would crop just a bit higher to remove the legs but I can see going either way on that. Congrats.

Beautiful, Kathy. I love this as posted. I do think a vertical crop would work beautifully also should you want to use it in that format.

Thank you all for all the comments. I went ahead and did a vertical crop as well. Here it is.

A great capture and very artistic composition and presentation, Kathy. What an opportunity to be able to capture a pose like this where they make a heart with their heads and necks! It's a gorgeous photo!

Hello Kathy, Well captured, with an excellent mood setting .
I really enjoy the image and would have preferred seeing the top head feathers crisper. Seems to me you worked the background and overlapped into these head feathers and lost some details ther ? Also noted on their back feathers some overlapping colour tones from the background too. BUT, overall a very pleasing capture!

Hi Bill Bickle
Thanks for the nice comments and I absolutely added another layer to tone down the background which I thought distracted from the birds. I am pretty sure I am not the best PS/Topaz practicitioner out there but I keep trying. :). Here is the original without the layer added.

Just fantastic - the 2 eyes so close and the positions of the beak and necks is exquisite. This is an award-winner for sure. Email me if you'd like some ideas as to where to enter this.
