Door County Shoreline

This was taken several years ago during a visit to Door County, Wisconsin.  The early morning fog was lifting and the sound of the Lake Michigan waves pounding into the cave on the shoreline was a great experience.  Comments and suggestions are welcome!

Don, Yes, I have been here at this location and I agree about the sounds. I like this comp and especially like the fog and great looking wave splashes. The image is a little soft in the rock and trees like it might be slightly out of focus or maybe web processing, but I still enjoy seeing it. I do see that it is one you took several years ago now. Anyway a nice shot Don. cool

I love the mood with the light fog and those crashing waves on the rocky shoreline are rendered beautifully with your chosen SS, Don. As Nick already mentioned this looks a touch soft, hopefully just in the web presentation as this is a lovely scene.

That wave action playing under the rocks is really cool; great shutter speed choice Don. The fog works for me, but I'd love to see this scene with light from a really low sun too; might be worth returning if possible cool.

This looks like an interesting place to shoot.  Overall I like the comp and the mood.  The texture in the water is also very nice.  It may just be due to web sharpening and compression, but it feels a bit unsharp overall.  That may have to do with F32 as well.  In a scene like this it's probably sufficient to use an aperture in the f/11 - f/16 range.
