Sony A77II
Minolta 70-400G @ 400mm
ISO 400, 1/250 @ f8

Chased this little guy around our garden and got a number of good shots but I liked this one with him perching on some day lily buds with a piece of our patriotic yard art in the BG. All comments welcome.>=))>

This is a fine look at this female Blue Dasher, Bill.  At first I was wondering about the blue iridescence on her face and the hints of it in her thorax, then I see one field guide that describes metallic blue on face and top of thorax for older females as well as a softer blue along the top of the abdomen.  She's nice a crisp and her colors blend well with the lily buds.

Bill, I really like the drape of her wings, and as Mark has pointed out the wonderful blend of colors throughout the frame.

Bill, beautiful colors in this dragonfly with a touch of bright turquoise. Sharp focus on the head.
