This was taken the same morning as my recent posts in the Landscape Gallery. While composing this image I noticed the fisherman upriver and decided to include him in the scene. A little later I had the pleasure of talking to him . He had been fishing for trout and had decided to move because he did not want to ruin the image. I told him he need not worry about ruining anything as there was plenty of space for both of us. As it turns out he had some images on his phone from Great Falls which is about an 1 1/2 hrs south of where I live in MD.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

I'm glad you included the fisherman. I'm also glad he is not a significant part of the picture. A peaceful, primeval and serene place.

I really like this, Ed. I can hear the rushing water and feel the damp misty air. The man fishing adds a nice touch to this scene as well. Awesome mood you captured!

Excellent photo Ed, the fly fisherman really adds to it.

Very nicely done. I love the overall mood and mistiness.  The vertical crop emphasizes the river and the depth of the scene.  The fisherman, almost imperceptible, adds meaning: his solitude, the peaceful human in a powerful and immense natural world.  I will come back to this one periodically just to gaze upon it.

Congrats on the WP. Great image with the fisherman and mist adding a nice ambiance. With the large D800 file maybe you could crop another image out of this with the fisherman a little more prominent.

Ed: Great scene superbly rendered. Had to play a bit of "Where's Waldo?" to find the fisherman but once found I think it is a very positive element. Congrats on a well deserved WP.>=))>
