Scarface Scores a Salmon

Two different conflicts reflected here.  The current and obvious one between the Sea Lion and the salmon and the historical evidence of a nasty conflict between this Sea Lion and another one.  Most of it's right cheek had been torn off. It seemed to be doing surprisingly well though.  It was fishing aggressively and quite successfully.  View the large version if you like gory details!

Sony a6500, FE 70-200 f2.8 GM w/1.4X TC @ 280mm (420mm equiv.), ISO-100, f/7.1, 1/4000 Hand held.

A fine catch, Gary.  The clarity and details in the larger version are outstanding.  The bit of splash around the fish's fin is a neat detail.

Wow Gary, that looks like recent damage for old scarface too. Sure fits the theme this week. Tough life, tough animal.
