Tricolored Heron Take 2

Same bird as the last that a couple minutes later decided to take up a new stalking position looking toward the open pool. At the same close range as the last, but the crouched pose afforded a more favorable comp to include the environment. I don't do it often, but for this the bird was very still and cooperative for a portrait at a low ISO. Shot full frame with slight adjustment in exposure and saturation. Fortunately the bird's plane of focus allowed this pose.

E-5 ZD300 F2.8, Wimberley I & tripod, ISO 100, 1/40 f4.5, 0.0EV, 2-second shutter delay with MLU

Excellent, Bill.  The colors are wonderful and I like the pose a lot.  Well done.

Bill, It looks wonderful to me,  I love the colors and feather detail and the green foliage.  When I asked myself what I might do with this shot the only mildly distracting element is the dead foliage to the right of the Heron.  But that would most certainly take considerable time and effort to remove.  Thanks, enjoyed it as it is.

A nice reflective hunting pose on this heron.  Similar to the last image with respect to environment.  Good detail and color here once again.
