I took this this morning in the rain.  Our first rain in several weeks.  I like the pose.  (And yes, there wasn't much room...)

Iso 500, 600 mm, F9, 500th, fill flash at -1, tripod, D 500, cropped to vertical from full frame, Topaz and TK actions

A great look at this Grosbeak, David!  Nice pose and excellent detail.  The colors are beautiful. I like the soft green bg too.

Excellent close view and eye contact of this guy, David.  Detail is excellent.  If I had to nit, backing away a little to get more real estate at the right would help.  But of course I know from experience the restrictions of using prime lenses in such a situation.

Excellent, David.   You've really dialed in the sharpening action lately.  This looks perfect.  Great perch, pose and bg.  Personally, this doesn't feel too tight, though I've seen images where the same amount of space would have felt that way.  I think it's the sedate pose.

Great capture. I love the pose of the bird and the little bit of extra that the lichen/moss on the branch brings to the party. I also like how the nice bokeh green highlights the bird.

Awww, man... you guys get all the rain.  Nice one, David.  Much better head angle this time, and the rainy day gave you some nice, even lighting. devil

Nice pose and detail.  The colors really pop.  Easy enough to provide a little more room should you choose to do so.
