Bad Hair Day

Hi all, I am sorry I have been off the grid lately. I was up in Maryland, in my hometown area. I took this off a boat in Tangier Island, MD. This Ospray seemed to think that we were a bit to close to her and her nest, so she was fussing with us. Taken handheld with Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 100-400mm lens with 1.4 teleconverter (560mm total reach), at 1/3200, f8, ISO 640. I cropped it in lightroom to around 92% just for better framing. Comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I noticed after I took the shot that she has bands on her legs, but she is in the wild. I guess it is something that the government is doing to track them or something.

Her expression tells the story, Shirley. There are a number of bird photographers on this site that can tell you much more that I, but the banding programs are for tracking and identifying individuals and species. If you're interested go to the US Fish & Wildlife Service then search for bird banding.
