I have been encountering blinded sphinx moths on a regular basis. This one is revealing the eye spots and flash colors on its hind wings which serve to startle avian predators.  I photographed this moth after the sun was behind some clouds and used -2ev fill flash to soften the shadows. 180 mm f3.5 (1/30 sec at f16 ISO 800) Curve adjustment on midtone luminosity mask with layer opacity set at 14%.

Those eyes are way cool.  The details in the moth and it's perch look great.  It's fun comparing this view with your earlier post and trying to figure out where it keeps those eyes hidden.
