Nice job on the exposure and interesting poses, Peter.  Since you weren't able to get the full reflection of the larger bird, I think it might work a little better if you cropped up from the bottom to the base of the neck int he reflection (just below the head of the smaller bird).  That would also get rid of part of the oof foreground grass in the lower left.

Hi Dennis
Thank for the comment.  This posting is back to a 2 by 3 crop, with a little more off the bottom of the frame.

Like the way petter all Egrets are looking in the same direction. Having different heights reminds me of one of those Russian dolls, one inside another in descending sizes.

Looking at the larger version I might fractionally up the Temp, add a bit more Exp, up the Sat and darken more the 'wedge' of water to add depth to the image.

Nice capture and an excellent illustration of the size differences. The crop in the repost works a little better, I think. I agree with others that you might brighten the birds a little bit.

This is actually one of my favorite images of the egrets that you have posted, especially the repost.  I like the behavioral aspect.Nice to see all the heads pointed in the same direction along with the size change from right to left.  Others have suggested brightening up the birds but I would be a little concerned about blowing out the whites in places.  I like the serenity of this scene and the family aspect implied.  A very nice image Peter.

I like the shot. I would crop out the grass and the one bird in the foreground and focus on the two birds. But that is just my opinion. I like the exposure level you were able to capture.
