This was such a wonderful morning for photography as Mike and I wandered along the Pemigewasset River. The air had cooled off by 15 degrees and created some sublime light and beautiful misty scenes along the river. We could have stayed there all day, but unfortunately the sun and humidity returned and burned the mist off. It was great while it lasted.

A lovely stretch of river with beautiful light, Ed.  I do wish the half a rock at bottom center weren't there.

This is nicely composed.  The water flow in the foreground keeps my eyes roaming from corner to corner before leading me upstream to the background.  As with the other images in this series the mist, although more subtle here, adds to the mood.  I do like having more of the green in the trees in the comp in this image.  The left corner is a bit dark and pulls my eyes a bit.  In the large version I can see detail, but my eye tends to get trapped there a bit.  I am not sure if that is intentional or if it is just the differences in brightness between our monitors.  It looks dark when I view it on my phone and tablet as well.  I wouldn't go overboard in brightening it, but I think a little would help.

Thank you also for your comment on my previous image.  I'm glad that you enjoyed it and appreciated the more subtle nature of that photo.  It seems that it's kind of slow recently on NPN - not many people are commenting for some reason.  Hopefully everyone is out shooting!

Ed, I'm really enjoying these atmospheric shots of a beautiful river. Shutter speed looks great to me. I agree with Brian that the left is a little dark, but just a little. There are a couple bright spots I might clone; the spot of sky through the trees in the UL, and at the edge of the river's left shore, just left of the triangular rock.

Ed, your image makes me feel like standing in the middle of the scene, experiencing that specific atmosphere. Your choice of shutter speed is spot on to my eye, and the delicate details of the foreground rocks just make the difference for me.

Opening up the shadow in the left part a bit might be an option, although exposure and processing work well for me as presented.

Here is a repost with your suggestions. Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
Brian: More than happy to leave you a comment. You are correct; it is really slow right now as far as people commenting.

The repost looks great, Ed.  There is just the right amount of light in the trees now.

Ed, always wishing the repost could be seen at the full size with my aging eyes,  but I can still see the positive changes in the second image. Although I found the original post very nice too. The water flow is what I especially like with regard to detail. Nice work.....laugh

Ed, I always enjoy images like this one and the repost works beautifully for me. The soft light and misty conditions are just wonderful and the water motion has such a nice feel. I love shooting scenes like this and this one makes me wish I had been there with you guys. Very nice work!

The repost nails it. Beautiful river scene. The different shades of green really pop this image nicely.

The combination of mist and running water is beautiful, but I especially like the touch of light on the trees top center!

Another beauty, Ed. Nice work on the repost. The water in the repost took on a slight cyan cast to me, and I preferred the more neutral water in the original, but no one else mentioned it, so take my comment for what it's worth.
