Swainson's Thrush

We always hear these in the copse where I have my blind, but I'd never seen one there.  This morning, this one came in to use my new and improved(?) pool.  Unlike it's cousin, the robin, it just jumps into the water and right back out, but it did it many times before it decided it was clean.  Between times it gave me some decent photo opportunities, though the light was a bit harsher than I like this morning.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 546 mm, tripod with ballhead and Wimberley Sidekick, f/11, 1/500, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 17.8 MP before resizing.  Taken this morning at 7:59 am.

Your comments and critiques are highly valued.

Thanks,

Really nice pose and detail, even with the harsh light this morning.  Funny thing, I also noticed the light was harsh early today.  (Perhaps it was the full moon?)  You have a real nice background here and the bird is real clean.

Hi Dennis
I think the light worked nicely on this shot. the kick of the eye makes the shot.
