I photographed this Great Egret at the same pond as the Swan’s I photographed in Hammonasset Beach State Park,CT this year. The shot is hand held and cropped by 20%.
There was now more room between the wing tip and the bottom of the frame.  I adjusted the whites in Lightroom and this is the first of 3 frames.

Very nice image, Peter.  I especially like the way the light seems to filter through the left wing.  The open beak makes me imagine the egret is laughing and singing!  Thanks for sharing!

This looks really nice especially as a large image.  You did a very good job with the white feathers.  I don't see any areas that are blown out.  Well composed.  Good detail.  A very pleasing image of this Great Egret.

Nice detail in the plumage and I like the separation from the background, Peter.  Your exposure looks right on.  While it would have been nice if the light were at a different angle, that doesn't always happen and you did an excellent job on this.

Well done, Peter. The others have already made any further points I would have made.
