White Mountains, NH

This is similar to a post by my brother a few days ago. We both came away with a few keepers from this particular morning as the mist providing some lovely light and atmospherics to this beautiful area in the White Mountains of NH.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

Ed,

Nice job on this image. Composition is really good. I might try to pull the greens back slightly as I think I am seeing a slight green cast.

I like the choices you have made here—The deliberate softness, the "flowing smoke" rather than the more conventional "flowing sand" and the low perspective.  It leaves me in quite an introspective state, speaking of quiet and aloneness.

Michael, your comp has very nice balance of components and light values, the mist providing nice depth, and I like your choice of SS to show silkiness yet retain water detail where it should be.  While the natural scene appears to be largely warmish/greenish tones, I think working on the color balance a bit would be an improvement.

I like the low angle and the softeness.  It really strikes a mood for me.  Nearly four decades ago, I made several visits to a friend's weekend home on the Pemigawasset well down stream from where you photographed.  I recall canoeing on the river.

A beautiful section of the river you found.  Love the mist.  I would agree that a slight adjustment of the color cast might improve things. A little more magenta and blue using the color balance sliders seemed to do the trick for me.  I found itr helped "clarify" the colors in the rocks and water, as well as the mist and give a little more neutral tone.

Beautiful image with great atmosphere, thanks to the mist and fog. On my monitor the colors look natural, so go figure. I like that the fog isn't blue and doesn't look like smoke. Peaceful scene, just wonderful to contemplate.

Beautiful Ed.  Love it all, this mist, the light, and the flow.  Really well done.  Small suggestion would be to crop or clone the small bil of grey rock protruding into the middle of the frame on the left.   Very minor.

This is very nice, Ed. The composition pulls me right into the frame, although I do find myself longing for a bit more of the trees in the upper part of the frame with perhaps a bit wider angle of view.  The fog adds a lot to the mood of the shot and you have captured this well.

An impressive capture of the scene to me, Ed. The foreground details make for wonderful focal points, and the mist in the distance adds a lot to the atmosphere.
