Nikon 17-35 @ 32 mm

ISO 400
White mountains, NH

This waterfall was just a side thought one day as Mike and I were checking out a few waterfalls. We were both glad we decided to go as we both came away with several images that we liked. An added bonus was the fact that it was only 2/10 of a mile from the parking area. cool

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

A dynamic image with a lot of detail to enjoy. I tend to stay away from vertical compositions, so I sort of want to have more, especially towards the right, but I suspect that you had very good reasons to compose the way you did, so no nits!

You certainly zoomed in on the essence of the water water rocks and vegetation that form this scene.  My first thought was that the horizontal movement of the water makes me want to see where it's going in a horizontal composition.  But looking at the details, this is quite complete.  The LARGE version really shows off the details.  Excellent exposure, shutter speed and processing.

Lots to look at and enjoy in this image, Ed. I like the nicely balanced comp with the foreground rocks, rushing water, carved rocks on the far side, and attractive trees at the top. Looks like a really a nice area.

Ed, I like the power and chaos is the river here. I am also intrigued by that little spillover coming in from the left. It's a small detail, but I like it. I was not familiar with this falls, so I will have to check out the area next time I'm up in NH. My only (very small) nit would be to clone out the spots of sky in the very ULC.

The overall detail and angle perspective works very nicely here, Ed. I also like the applied shutter speed to catch the water flow in detail and texture too.......laugh

This is outstanding, Ed.  I don't shoot vertical very often but after looking this over, I may reconsider my biases. The detail in the large drew me right in and kept my attention bottom to top and vice-versa.  The little pour over in the foreground is special, and the greens and dark rocks in the background work together very nicely.  I would clone the bright spot ULC.   Beautiful work.

The larger view is a pleasure to look at.Great example of FG, MG, and BG compostion. Wonderful textures in the FG rocks, perfect ss for the cascading water and great greens in the foliage.devil

Looks like you caught these  falls with some high flow. I can feel the power of the water. The lower pool is a great swimming hole in hot weather, but the water never seems to warm up!
