Lightshow above the Franconia Range in the White Mountains of NH.
Nikon D800, 70-200 2.8 @ 86mm, 4 sec @ f/22 ( don't know why, since I was probably focused at infinity)

That is some amazing light! I love the dramatic dark clouds above that (relatively) small patch of light. I think you could darken up the foreground a bit. I wasn't there, but it seems a little too bright.

Wow, that is some special light! As Craig said, I think this would look more natural to me if the foreground were just a bit darker. In fact, given the darkness of the clouds, I think adding some darkness (and maybe a touch of contrast) to the shaded parts of the mountains would make that lightshow even more dramatic. But as Craig said, "I wasn't there."

Michael: you've captured a very interesting light show and I like it as is. I think a different (not better) approach would be to apply the dehaze tool to the lower half of the image via the gradient. That would add more contrast and definition to the trees. Richard

That was a great display of light and one of the better sunsets I have seen in a while, Mike. The sky looks perfect; I could see a bit more contrast to the FG as it looks a little flat. Easy fix for this wonderful moment.

That's pretty amazing. Well captured. You didn't describe the mode your camera was in, but I suspect it average the exposure. If this were mine, I'd darken the foreground a bit. But, as others have said, I wasn't there.
