Having Lunch

I was going to see if I could get some more close ups of the dragonfly (noticed he seemed to not mind me on my way back from the mailbox).  Well, when I got down and was going to pose he flew up and between me and my camera, and back down to the sidewalk.  I realized that he had captured something and was eating it, so I hurriedly got on down and clicked a few shots.  It appears that it was some kind of white moth or something.  You can see the wings.  Shot using Canon Mark II, Canon 100mm L macro lens and the KX-800 twin flash and DIY diffuser as discribed in earlier post.  Settings were 1/90, f16, ISO 200.  No cropping involved.  Tweaked the brightness and shaddows some in LR, that is about it.  Comments and suggestions welcome.

Shirley, the details in his face (especially the eyes) and thorax, as well as the fallen wings of his prey all look great.  Your shot tells a good story with the scattered moth wings.  This looks like a male Eastern Pondhawk and it's very typical of them to land on flat surfaces at or near ground level.

I love those eyes Shirley, Great low POV, and DOF. Nice shot. The wings are a great addition and really add to the story.
