I was fortunate to have this guy pose for me on an old piece of driftwood with a clean sandy background.

Canon 7d Mark II
Sigma 150-500 at 500 mm
1/1600 at f7.1
ISO 320

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Nice capture, Allen.  The only thing I would suggest, and that is just me, is to crop a little of the out of focus log out of the image.  It really is a fine photo as is, but it might improve the shot even more.  Just a thought.

Very, very beautiful, wonderful detail, great colors, perfect pose.  I agree with Shirley, and I think I'd try a crop up to the top of the most OOF spot at the lower left.  This is gorgeous.

A sweet subject Allen and I like the complimentary BKG. Looking at the larger version it looks a bit of a hefty crop and or the sharpening is a bit much? I might back off on the Blacks and Contrast as it looks like some of the finer detail is being choked.

Beautiful detail in the White-crowned, Allen.  I like the head turn and the bg, but wish there wasn't so much oof foreground.

Wonderful detail and head turn.  I like the background.  Could use about half of the foreground.

A nice pose with that head turn, Allen. You have a nice clean background that compliments this sparrow. I think the amount of OOF foreground pulls the eye away from the bird. I think removing about half of it would be effective.
