Larus delawarensis

This is from a trip to Florida back in January. Ring-billed Gulls don't seem to get much respect, I guess because they are so common. I think they are beautiful. They are also great for practicing flight shots. This is full frame with no crop.

Wow, this could not be any sharper or have any more perfect detail. MUST see the larger version. If you are practicing flight shots, then I'd say you get a perfect score times 10 on this one. And that it's full frame makes it even more impressive for a flight shot.

Very nice fly-by gull, Matt! I agree completely with you. Gulls are beautiful birds but don't get much attention because there are so many of them. I also find that they are great for practicing in-flight shots (also because there are so many of them). This one is a very nice capture with excellent exposure and fine detail. Well done!

Excellent, Matt, and that's a lot of lens to be swinging around for flight shots. Detail and exposure are perfect. And gulls are great subjects.
