I haven't been able to participate much lately due to lots of home related issues. Have been enjoying the great images on display here when I have been able. I believe these birds were engaged in courtship behavior. D800e. 150-600 @ 600, f 6.3, 1/3200, ISO 1000. C & C always appreciated.

Wonderful action, Jim. The eye of the left bird makes this image for me. I do think there's more room on the bottom than you need. You might try cropping almost up to the splash line and see how you like it. Great shot.

I too love that red eye on the left bird. This looks like a fight to me, but you saw the whole thing so you are probably right.
