Feeding Time #2 & RP

Taken yesterday.  Different perch.  Higher iso, better light.  Partially cloudy with rapid light changes due to fast moving clouds.  Within 15 feet of the lens so I had to add some canvas.  This is at f10, one stop smaller than the first post.  The tail feathers on the CB Chickadee on the right are a little soft.  Today, the juvenile was feeding by itself.

iso 1000, 600mm, f10, 320th, D500, no flash, tripod. Topaz and TK actions.

Another nice interaction shot, David. I do wish for less motion blur in the bird on the right, but you have a tough task there, you need f10 to get the DOF, but it prevents a shutter speed fast enough to freeze the action. Definitely a keeper shot with that interaction!!!

Very nice interaction captured, David. Perhaps a tad more selective sharpening to the juvie? I'd be delighted to have such a good feeding shot in my portfolio.

Another nice feeding shot, David.  It certainly doesn't take them long to catch on.

Interestingly, I had three opportunities yesterday to shoot these interactions.  One was at ISO 1250 and the other at ISO 1600.  Even with shutter speeds of 800 th, there was still some motion blur in each image.  These little birds can move fast!  This image at ISO 1000 was the best of the bunch.  I suppose I could have pushed the local sharpening a little more but I don't think the quality would have been there.

I think this is a better shot than your first post.  I like the interaction more, it is sharper even though there is a small amount of motion blur on the right bird.  About the only thing that I'm not wild about is the overly saturated green background.  For me it competes to much with the subjects.

Another nice shot with the Chickadees interacting.  I would agree with the comment about the background being too intense.

The moment makes the shot for me. Agree on the bright green, you may consider to desaturate this a bit. But, great behavioral image ! Best, Hans

Gorgeous shot of this interaction. Great BG. I do like the second one better with the less intense green!

Lovely! I have never seen a Chestnut Backed Chickadee before, so I'm especially jealous of this one!
